I am currently reading “How Would You Move Mt. Fuji” and came across a nice puzzle in that book. The puzzle has two solutions, one being pretty obvious. See if you can crack both the solutions:
You are given a rectangular cake with a rectangular portion cut off. The cut off rectangular portion can be of any size/orientation and can be located anywhere on the cake.
How will you divide such a cake into two equal halves with just one slice of a knife.

Planet PDF has some excellent eBooks available for download. The books have a decent layout, tags to aid navigation and reasonable typography. I am a big fan of eBooks and these well produced PDFs are certainly readable on a laptop. Unlike other sites, I believe, Planet PDF’s copies are all legal.
