Gmail Server Error August 17, 2005

Gmail is temporarily unavailable. Cross your fingers and try again in a few minutes. We’re sorry for the inconvenience.
If you know the service is gonna be down for more than a couple of hours (as is the case with Gmail currently), kindly let the users know. Telling them to try again in a few minutes is simply wrong.
Rant aside, does anyone have any idea what is wrong with Gmail and why it is down for such a long period?
PS: Looks like I am the only one having problems with Gmail. Bugger! 😦
PPS: Latest update…. my account is working just fine now.

Could be the W32.Zotob.E virus!! They might be updating their systems against the attack! (wild guess)
I doubt Google would be running apps like Gmail on Windows boxen. Either way, it means I have been unable to access my mails for over 2 days now. Argggh! :((

I have been having problems with gmail for the last two days(its ok today). And the service remains out for hours on a stretch.
And I am using Linux/Firefox.
Ahaa… finally someone else who too seems to be having problems with Gmail.
But unlike you, Sumo Man, I am unable to login even now. Arggh!! :((
Have mailed a couple of friends at Google. Hoping that the issue gets sorted out soon….

Since I signed up Gmail account and was accepted on August 30, I haven’t been able to use Gmail. I use Linux Fedora 2 and Mozilla browser. Is there any anything wrong about my system? Or Server Error always happens?

I never had any problem.
I login to http://google.com/ig and use Google Talk. As soon as a mail arrives in my inox I can previw it w/out opening inbox.
I did have some problems but non lasted more than 5 mins.
BTW I am fwding link to ur blog to all in my mailing list.

My Gmail has not worked since Friday … 3 days without email is kiling and I use this as my primary account. Missed a lot of work emails too which I wanted to work over the weekend … My life got miserable (read-screwed) because I relied on Gmail too much
