RSS Reader September 13, 2005

Posted by dhar in Misc.

Can anyone suggest a good open source / free RSS reader application for Windows XP? I rather liked Feed Demon but I dont think I can shell out $30 for an RSS reader application yet. Also Sage is not good enough.

I was using FeedReader 2.7 (build 646) before I shifted to bloglines.com. Somehow I find online feed readers good and they are free too!!

I’m right now using Habari Xenu News Aggregator, an extension to FF. Since the browser is open most of the times, this is the easiest to use.

It’s a bare-bones aggregator with no pseud features, but it suits me just fine!

Chand: I earlier tried Sage and Aggregr8, two browser plugins. Didn’t like them too much.

Anonymous1: I am currently trying Thunderbird.

Piyush: I used Bloglines for a short while, and somehow moved away later. But I know an online reader has many advantages. Primary being the fact that no matter which computer you use, it will have an idea of which feeds you have already read and stuff like that.

Am currently downloading RSS Bandit to give it a shot.
